With a population of 6,657 , Jackson, Louisiana is a small city. There are only 2 nursing homes there, which does not offer you too many options to choose from. This city's nursing homes received a world class city grade of A-, so what this place lacks in quantity, it makes up for by having high quality nursing homes. We found this city grade was considerably better than the city grade of B- received by the nearby city of Natchez. Both cities received decent grades, but Jackson appears to be a far better option. The best part of Jackson's strong report card was its nursing homes' inspection reports. Inspection reports are discussed in the next paragraph
In addition to receiving a strong overall grade, this city performed extremely well in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded the city an A for that category, which is one of our best scores. Perhaps the most important factor we look at in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a facility's inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher grades in this area most likely dodged the most severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. In addition, Jackson performed especially well in the area of long-term care as well. Consequently, we gave it an A- in this category. Rounding out its excellent profile, Jackson received an A- for nursing and a B+ for short-term care.
