Once we looked at the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 99.29329 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is significantly higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

This facility has also received near flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. Inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these items by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This particular nursing home received 6 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a good inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The next area we analyzed is short-term care, where this nursing home was awarded a B- in this category. Short-term care scores are based in part on the facility's quantity of skilled nursing services. This includes a wide range of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this facility provided data regarding its registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The final metric we considered in this area is the number of patients who who were able to eventually return home from the nursing home. We found that just 5.7 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: C

The final category we rated was nursing. In this category, we awarded this facility a decent grade of C. This actually was this facility's worst area. When determining our nursing ratings, we analyze both staffing levels and the training levels of those nurses. This particular nursing home provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident daily. This figure is far below the national average. Finally, our nursing ratings also consider some quality-focused measures. We look at the percent of residents who experienced pressure ulcers and major falls. Sometimes these statistics are indicators of the quality of nursing care, since better care tends to reduce these problems.
