Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. These inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these items by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Fortunately, although this place had a few minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to draw your attention to the fact that this facility fared very well in our long-term care category. We gave them an elite score of A+ in this category. Nursing homes that receive this type of grade in long-term care typically provide consistent around the clock care to make sure patients are kept in good health. In addition to looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 97.402596 percent of its patients, which is an impressive figure. Pneumonia tragically can be a deadly condition for nursing home residents so we strongly prefer when a facility does not leave this to chance. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility received an impressive grade of A in our nursing category. Our nursing grade is based on the facility's nurse staffing levels. We weigh both the levels of licensure of the nurses and the quantity of hours spent with patients. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality-based metrics and this facility excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the nation in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can frequently be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as having a system of turning patients at least once a day.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

In our final category, this nursing home also was awarded an impressive short-term care rating, with an A-. This finished off a very strong profile. Short-term care ratings are based in part on a nursing home's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a wide range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final statistic we considered in this category is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We found that 4.8 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.
