Inspection ratings are based on several items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that excel in this category have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Fortunately, although this nursing home had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. However, you should not assess this nursing home based only on one weak area, since it was given multiple excellent scores in other areas. In a long-term care setting, the nursing home's primary goal is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. On top of looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 99.65987 percent of its residents, which is better than most nursing homes. Surprisingly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
