Facility Inspections

Grade: A

To go along with a strong overall score, we awarded this facility a grade of A for our inspections rating. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in calculating our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher scores in this category typically avoided the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. It doesn't look like we have deficiency data for this nursing home. We wish we had more information about this facility. Without the information regarding deficiencies, it was a challenge to grade this facility in terms of this category.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

This facility also was awarded a high-end short-term care score. Indeed, this is its second strongest category score. In that area, we gave this facility a grade of A. In our short-term care score, we endeavor to forge a sound measure for rehabilitation. In this process, we assess the facility's offerings of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final datapoint we considered in this category is the percentage of residents that who were able to eventually return home from the nursing home. We found that 6.4 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This facility was awarded a strong long-term care score as well. We gave it one of our higher scores in that category with a grade of B+. Nursing homes that receive this type of grade in long-term care typically provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure residents are well cared for. After looking at the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 98.314606 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is much higher than most nursing homes. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

In the last category we assessed, this nursing home was given a very strong grade of B+ in our nursing category. With this score, the facility topped off a very impressive profile. Our nursing score considers several subcategories. The most important factor is the quantity of hours nurses spent with residents. This particular nursing home provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
