Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also found that this facility excelled in our long-term care rating. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. When facilities receive a grade in this range in long-term care it typically means it's well-staffed and is an overall good place to reside on a permanent basis. Once we looked at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 99.0566 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is much higher than the average nursing home. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A

In addition, this nursing home also earned a nearly flawless government inspection report. As a result, it received one of our best grades in that category with an A. Inspection ratings account for a host of factors found on a facility's inspection reports. One key criteria we rely on is the number and severity of deficiencies. Places with higher grades in this area typically have very few of these severe deficiencies. It doesn't appear that we were able to find deficiency data for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

This nursing home also received a strong nursing score. In fact, we awarded it an above average grade of B+ in this area. The nursing grade features many datapoints. The most important one is the amount of time nurses spent with residents. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In our final area, this facility also was awarded a first-rate short-term care grade, with a grade of B+. This topped off an elite profile. In calculating these short-term care scores, we analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our goal is to devise a measure for comparing the rehabilitation services of different facilities. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we considered the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
