Facility Inspections

Grade: A

On top of receiving a great overall score, this nursing home also earned first-rate government inspections in recent years. We gave it one of our higher grades in this category, with an A. Inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these items by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This facility was assessed 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This indicates that the government inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies to cause an imminent risk to resident health or safety. The fact that none of the deficiencies were severe leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This nursing home also received a strong short-term care score. In fact, we gave it an above average grade of B+ in this area. In the area of short-term care, we attempt to qualify indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. We assess the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last datapoint we assessed in this category is the number of patients who ultimately were able to return home from the facility. We found that 5.1 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

This facility's next best category grade came in the area of nursing. In that category, we gave this nursing home a grade of B-. This wasn't quite on par with some of its other category grades mentioned above. The nursing rating weighs many components, most of which are associated with nursing hours. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Finally, despite not having the highest total nursing hours, this facility actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is often a reliable indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

Our next area is long-term care, in which we awarded this nursing home a grade of C in that category. If you are looking for services other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care ratings. One of the statistics we considered on top of nurse's aid hours is vaccinations. Thankfully, this nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccine to 100 percent of its patients. This place was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
