Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

In addition to earning a strong overall grade, this facility also received an elite short-term care grade. We gave them one of our higher grades in that area, with an A-. In crafting our short-term care scores, we look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. Our goal is to create a measure for comparing the rehabilitation services of nursing homes. Unfortunately, we weren't able to find registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. The last measure we considered in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that 5.5 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

This nursing home also received a strong nursing score. In fact, we awarded it an above average grade of B+ in this area. Our nursing rating is primarily tied to a facility's level of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

Turning to another of this nursing home's strengths, it also earned a very impressive inspection rating. In that area, we awarded this nursing home an impressive grade of B+. Inspection grades weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This place was assessed 6 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none were considered to be severe. This means that CMS didn't deem any of these deficiencies an immediate threat to resident safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies aren't something to panic about.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

The last category we scored was long-term care. For that category, we gave this nursing home a grade of C. In calculating our long-term care grades, we assess the personal care received by the facility's residents. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 76.59574 percent of its patients. This is pretty significantly less than the national average. Fortunately, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
