Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

To go along with its strong overall score, we gave this nursing home an A+ for our inspection category. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing our inspection scores. One of those factors is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some can be quite insignificant. It does not look like we have deficiency counts for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

Among its many impressive grades, this facility received an excellent nursing grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A- in that category. Nursing grades are primarily based on the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

This facility also was given a high-end long-term care grade. This actually turned out to be this facility's third best category score. In that category, this facility received a score of A-. Long-term care grades of this caliber generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. One of the statistics we considered in addition to nursing hours was vaccinations. This facility administered the pneumonia vaccination to 97.59358 percent of its patients. This is a great way to avoid unnecessary deaths for the nursing home population. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The last area we rated is short-term care, in which this nursing home was awarded a grade of B. While this ended up being its worst category rating, this is still an impressive score. Short-term care ratings are based in part on a facility's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a wide scope of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the number of residents that who were able to eventually return home from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.
