Facility Inspections

Grade: A

In addition to performing well in its overall grade, this facility received an excellent inspection report. As a result, it received one of our highest scores in that category with an A. Perhaps the most significant factor we consider in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a facility's inspection reports. Facilities with better grades in this category most likely avoided the most severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. This facility received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that CMS didn't deem any of these deficiencies to be an imminent threat to resident safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

This nursing home also received a very impressive nursing grade. In fact, this turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. Nursing scores are mostly associated with a nursing home's nurse staffing. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In addition, this facility also was given favorable short-term care grades this year. Indeed, we gave it one of our more favorable scores in that category, with a score of B+. Our short-term care ratings are crucial for prospective residents in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally requires more highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes a broad range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last measure we looked at in this area is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return home. We found that 5.3 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

The fourth category we assessed was long-term care, where this nursing home was awarded a B+. This wrapped up a very impressive report card. Few nursing homes received a B+ or higher in each of our categories. Facilities that receive this kind of grade in this category tend to provide consistent around the clock care to make sure residents are well cared for. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination record. This facility vaccinated 85.87128 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which happens to be a bit lower than we were hoping for but still a respectable figure. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we had hoped, we were pleased to find nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
