Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to receiving a strong overall grade, this facility earned an A+ inspection grade. This is based on the facility's recent inspection reports. An A+ in this category is one of the best complements we can pay to a facility. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining our inspection ratings. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some of these can be relatively minor. While this facility had some minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means the government inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality

Contributing to its fine resume, this nursing home also was awarded a dominant short-term care score, with a score of A. With our short-term care rating, we strive to create a valuable measure for rehabilitation. In this process, we assess the facility's offerings of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the percentage of patients who ultimately returned home from this nursing home. We found that 6 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

This facility also excelled in the category of long-term care, where it received a score of A-. Not many nursing homes fared better in this category. Facilities that excel in this category typically provide residents with more supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. Once we looked at the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 98.79518 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is significantly higher than the majority of nursing homes. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

In our last category, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for its nursing rating. This completed a first-rate profile. Our nursing rating assesses a handful of data points, but the primary one is the quantity of nurse hours spent with patients. This facility provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also factored a few quality measures into our nursing grades. This facility was relatively weak in two of the major areas we focus on, with below average scores for minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. These areas are generally reliable indicators of the quality of nursing care provided.
