Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility excelled in our nursing rating. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. Our nursing grade assesses quite a few factors, most of which are based on quantities of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility the state in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can frequently be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as by employing a protocol of moving a patient even once per day.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

This nursing home also received an A+ for its short-term care score. Short-term care grades are based on a nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a broad range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, not to mention other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients that were able to return home from this facility. We found that 6.2 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

The third category we analyzed is long-term care. This nursing home performed remarkably in our long-term care category also. We awarded them an exemplary score of A+ in this category. Nursing homes that receive this kind of score in long-term care typically provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure residents are kept in good health. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility gave the vaccine to 100 percent of its patients. Vaccines are critical to keeping residents out of the hospital. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

Adding to its amazing profile, this nursing home has also received near flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. This made for a perfect report card for this facility. Inspection ratings account for several factors found on a nursing home's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher grades in this area usually have few of these severe deficiencies. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
