Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

To go along with its strong overall score, we awarded this nursing home an A for our short-term care rating. In computing our short-term care ratings, we scrutinize the facility's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other types of therapists. This score is frequently a reliable assessment of the facility's ability to rehabilitate patients. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final item we considered in this area is the number of residents that ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that 6.1 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility received an impressive grade of A- in our nursing category. Our nursing rating is largely based on the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

This facility has received near flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A- in this category. These inspection grades weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Fortunately, although this facility had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G through L. This means that CMS didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in this industry.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

In our last category, this facility also received an excellent long-term care rating, with an A-. This completed a very impressive profile. When nursing homes receive this type of score in long-term care it is a good sign for resident care and suggests that the place is well-staffed with nurses and aids. Once we concluded our assessment of the volume of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the facility's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 98.305084 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia sadly is often a dangerous condition for nursing home residents so we like it when a facility does not take any chances. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
