Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

To pair with a favorable overall grade, we gave this nursing home an A+ for inspections. Inspection ratings account for a host of factors included in a facility's inspection report. One key criteria we weigh heavily is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher grades in this area tend to have very few of these severe deficiencies. Although this place had a few deficiencies on its inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to draw your attention to the fact that this facility performed remarkably in our long-term care category. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this area. Nursing homes that receive this kind of score in this category typically provide consistent around the clock care to ensure residents are well cared for. On top of considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility gave the vaccine to 100 percent of its residents, which is what we like to see. Pneumonia is often a dangerous health condition for nursing home residents so we strongly prefer when a facility does not leave its residents vulnerable. Lastly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

Another reason we rated this nursing home so highly is that it received an A+ nursing grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this category. The nursing rating weighs many factors. The most important factor is the amount of time nurses spend with patients. This particular nursing home provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In the last category we scored, this facility was awarded a very strong grade of A in our short-term care category. With this score, the facility finished off a straight A profile. Our short-term care ratings are based on the facility's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a broad spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 5.8 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
