Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

This facility earned an inspection score which is stronger than its overall grade. Inspection scores are associated with a facility's recent government inspections. We awarded this facility an above average grade of B+ in this area. Our inspection grades are based on several datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that receive favorable grades in this area typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. While this facility had a few deficiencies on its report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. A couple of minor deficiencies should not lead you to cross a nursing home off your list.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

This facility also was awarded an impressive grade in our long-term care category. We awarded this facility an above average grade of B in that area. When nursing homes receive this type of score in this category it is typically a good sign for patient care and suggests that the nursing home is well-staffed with nurses and aids. One of the criteria we considered on top of nurse's aid hours was vaccines. This facility provided the pneumonia vaccination to 99.79123 percent of its residents. This is a reliable method to avoid unnecessary hospitalizations for the senior population. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: D

We awarded this nursing home a grade of just D for our short-term care rating. This is not a score to write home about. Our short-term care grade is typically employed to score a facility's performance with rehabilitation In order to have highly rated rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally need to provide better levels of skilled nursing services. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other types of therapists. Considering its grade in this category, we were not stunned to learn that this facility is well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its patients based on the figures we assessed. Finally, we assessed the percentage of residents who returned home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: D

The next area we looked at is nursing, turned out to be this facility's worst category. We awarded this facility a grade of D in that area. The nursing category weighs many factors, most of which are tied to nursing hours. This particular facility offered a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This number is significantly below average. Lastly, we also looked at a few quality-based metrics in calculating our nursing grades. This nursing home was above average in two of the major metrics we considered, with solid marks for minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
