Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. Inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Unfortunately, it does not appear that we have deficiency data for this facility. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

One of the other reasons we rated this nursing home so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing grade. Nursing proved to be its second best category grade. In that category, we awarded this facility an A-. There are many subcategories included in this grade. Many of these datapoints relate to levels of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this facility excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the nation in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as employing a system of turning a resident at least once a day.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This facility was awarded a strong short-term care score as well. We awarded it one of our higher grades in that area with a score of B+. Short-term care scores are important for people requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally requires more skilled nursing services. This means a broad spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other types of therapy. We were not able to track down registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. The last datapoint we assessed in this category is the number of patients who eventually returned home from the nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The last area we analyzed was long-term care, in which this nursing home was awarded a B. This actually proved to be this facility's worst category. A facility is doing something right when their lowest grade still is superior to most other facilities. When facilities receive this kind of grade in long-term care it is a good sign for patient care and suggests that the nursing home is well-staffed with nurses and aids. In addition to considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 99.25926 percent of its residents, which is an impressive figure. Pneumonia sadly can be a deadly illness for nursing home patients so we prefer when a facility does not take any chances. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
