Facility Inspections

Grade: A

This facility received a quality overall grade as described above, but we especially would like to emphasize its excellent government inspections in recent years. We gave it an impressive grade of A in this area. Inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. It doesn't appear that we have deficiency data for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This nursing home is also above average in the area of long-term care, where it was given a grade of B+. It outperformed most facilities in this area. Facilities that receive this kind of score in long-term care tend to provide consistent around the clock care to make sure residents are well cared for. Once we looked at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 99.62406 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is far higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

The third area we analyzed was short-term care. This nursing home was given a favorable short-term care grade, with a grade of B+ in the category. Our short-term care grades are meaningful for people requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically requires higher levels of highly-skilled nursing. This means a vast range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other types of therapy. We were not able to locate registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. Finally, we assessed the number of patients that ultimately were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 5.5 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B

The last area we analyzed is nursing. We gave this facility one of our higher scores in that category, with a grade of B. This facility proved to be relatively strong in each category we looked at. The nursing rating analyzes a handful of components, many of which are based on quantities of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed better than average in this area. This is often a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can typically be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
