Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to receiving an elite overall score, this nursing home also received an A+ inspection score. This score is based on its recent government inspections. An A+ in this area is one of the best complements we can pay to a facility. These inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This nursing home received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This indicates that CMS did not deem any of the deficiencies to pose an imminent threat to resident safety or health. We should note that deficiency-free inspections are rare in the industry.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Adding to its dominant resume, this nursing home also performed well in our short-term care category. In fact, it received a score of A- in that area. Our short-term care grade is commonly employed to score a facility's rehabilitation services. To provide highly graded rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally need to feature better levels of skilled nursing services. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other licensed professionals. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final measure we considered in this category is the number of residents that were able to return home from the facility. We found that 5.5 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The next area we looked at is long-term care. This facility was given a very positive long-term care grade, with a B in the category. For prospective patients seeking a permanent place to live as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care is a very important category. On top of considering the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 87.68116 percent of its patients. This is slightly below what we were hoping for. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we like to see, we were pleased to find place was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B

Moving on to the final category, this nursing home was awarded a highly favorable nursing grade. Although this wasn't quite as elite as several of its other scores, this remains one of the better scores we offer. Our nursing rating assesses a handful of components, but the primary one is the number of nurse hours per patient per week. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed better than average in this area. This is often a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
