Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

In addition to being a respectable nursing home overall, this place also excelled in the category of inspections, where it earned a grade of A-. Few nursing homes performed better in this area. Inspection grades are tied to pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that score well in this category typically have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. This place was assessed 5 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This indicates that the government inspectors didn't deem any of these deficiencies to pose an imminent risk to resident health or safety. A couple of minor deficiencies shouldn't lead you to cross a nursing home off your list.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

Another one of this nursing home's higher category scores came in the area of short-term care. In that area, we gave this facility a grade of B. It actually outperformed most facilities in this area. Our short-term care ratings are crucial for prospective residents looking for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually mandates additional skilled nursing services. This means a vast spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients that ultimately were able to return home from this facility. We found that 5.6 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: C

One of this facility's better category grades was in the area of nursing care. In that area, we gave this facility a grade of C. We looked at the skill-level of nurses at the nursing home, in addition to the quantity of hours those nurses were with residents, in calculating our grade in this category. This nursing home averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place surprisingly excelled in some of the quality measures we looked at. It scored well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: F

The last category we looked at was long-term care. Unfortunately, we gave it a lowly F in this area, which is an abysmal grade. This is obviously a significant disappointment. For prospective residents in need of a permanent residence rather than skilled nursing, long-term care grades are a key measure. Once we looked at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination statistics. We were optimistic to find that this nursing home vaccinated 94.65408 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has fewer hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
