Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also want to emphasize the fact that this facility excelled in our nursing rating. We gave them an A+ in this area. There are quite a few criteria included in this area. Many of these factors relate to the quantity and quality of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to direct your attention to the fact that this nursing home excelled in our long-term care category. We gave them a dominant score of A+ in this area. Facilities that receive this type of score in this category typically provide consistent around the clock care to make sure patients are well cared for. In addition to looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility gave the vaccine to 98.8764 percent of its patients, which is an impressive figure. Pneumonia tragically can be a dangerous condition for nursing home patients so we strongly prefer when a nursing home does not take any chances. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

Another strength for this nursing home is short-term care, where it was given an A+ rating. This is flat out as dominant as it gets in this area. Short-term care grades are typically used to grade a facility's rehabilitation services In order to have good rehabilitation services, facilities generally need to have higher levels of highly skilled nursing services. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other highly trained professionals. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final datapoint we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We found that 6.7 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A

Another impressive feature for this place is its inspection grade. In that category, we awarded this nursing home an elite grade of A, completing its straight A performance. Our inspection ratings are tied to several pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that excel in this area have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
