Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

This facility's best category grade came in the category of inspections. In this area, we gave this facility a B+. It outperformed most facilities in this area. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating these inspection scores. One key factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies are relatively insignificant. This nursing home was assessed 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This tells you that the inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies to create an immediate threat to resident safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies shouldn't lead you to cross a nursing home off your list.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

In addition, we also wanted to point out that this facility was given strong short-term care marks in this assessment. We awarded them one of our higher scores in that category, with a B. This turned out to be the nursing home's second best score. In calculating these short-term care ratings, we quantify the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The goal is to create a scale for sizing up the rehabilitation services of different facilities. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. However, according to the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the number of residents that were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: C

This nursing home's nursing grade appears to be one of its better features. The facility received a grade of C in this category. There are a variety of subcategories included in this grade. Most of the factors are tied to staffing levels. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This is a lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, despite not having the highest total nursing hours, this facility performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is typically a reliable indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: F

This nursing home's weakest category is long-term care, which is the final area we analyzed. Unfortunately, we gave it an F in this area. Despite some decent grades in other areas, this score is still concerning so we felt obligated to make a note of it. Facilities that don't fare well in this category typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in some of the areas of routine healthcare services we assessed. After assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we next considered the facility's vaccination statistics. Unfortunately, this facility vaccinated only 88.31168 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this facility actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best score in this category.
