Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In addition to receiving a strong overall score, this facility performed well in short-term care. We awarded it an impressive grade of A for that category. Our short-term care ratings are important for prospective residents in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally requires additional skilled nursing services. This includes a broad spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final metric we considered in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We found that 6.1 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

Adding to its impressive grades, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for inspections. Perhaps the most critical factor we look at in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a facility's inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher grades in this area typically dodged the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. This place was assessed 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This indicates that the government inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies to create an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in this industry.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

The next highest grade we gave this nursing home came in the category of nursing, where we gave it a grade of B-. This wasn't quite as good as some of its other scores, but a grade in this range is not the end of the world. Our nursing grade is primarily associated with the nursing home's nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Finally, nursing scores also consider quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. Despite not having the highest total nursing hours, this facility performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is typically a reliable indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place. Some falls could be avoided if a facility supplies enough nurses to assist its patients.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: D

The next category we looked at was long-term care. We gave this nursing home a grade of D in our long-term care category, leaving this as the facility's least impressive category grade. Long-term care scores of this caliber generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids, as well as the levels of routine medical care available. After considering the amount of nursing care, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination data. We were a bit bothered by the fact that this facility vaccinated a relatively low 90.85366 percent of its residents for pneumonia. To our surprise, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than most nursing homes. This is its best feature in this category.
