Long-term Care Quality

Grade: D

We could not find anything positive to say about this facility. It received a D in the area of long-term care. Unfortunately, this ended up being its best grade. Long-term care scores in this range generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids, as well as the levels of routine medical care available. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Frankly, we were a bit bothered by the fact that this nursing home provided the vaccine to a relatively low 66.75603 percent of its residents. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.

Nurse Quality

Grade: D

We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating and that actually turned out to be its second highest score. Our nursing score is primarily associated with the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provided a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This number is far below the national average. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing grades. This place fared well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these metrics to be reliable indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections

Grade: D

Unfortunately, with a grade of D in the inspection category, this facility performed relatively poorly in that area. Our inspection scores weigh a host of factors found on a nursing home's inspection report. One key criteria we look at is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. This particular facility was hit with several category G through L deficiencies, which are among the more serious deficiencies. This generally indicates that the deficiencies identified by the government inspectors had the potential to create actual harm to patients. We are also concerned by the fact that this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: F

Turning to our last area, this nursing home did not fare very well here either. Due to a poor grade of F in short-term care, this is just about as terrible as it gets. In the category of short-term care, we seek to qualify measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We assess a nursing home's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. With its score in this category, we weren't surprised to learn that this place is well below average in terms of its quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its residents based on the figures we looked at. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of residents who who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
