Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

One of the many reasons this place ended up being a great nursing home is that it received an A+ in our inspections category. This is as good as it gets in this very important area. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Grade: A

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility received an impressive grade of A in our nursing category. Nursing ratings are based in large part on nurse staffing levels. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can generally be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

Compounding its fine resume, this facility also was given a superb short-term care score, with a grade of A. In the area of short-term care, we try to assess measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We analyze a nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as the ones performed by registered nurses and physical, occupational and other therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 5.4 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In our last category, we gave this facility a grade of A+ for our long-term care score. This wrapped up a very impressive report card. Long-term care grades in this range generally require both 24/7 care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. After assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 97.6 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is significantly higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
