Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

One of the reasons this place ended up being a quality nursing home is it earned an A+ in our inspections category. This is as good as it gets in this very important category. Inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This nursing home was hit with 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This means that the government inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies to create an imminent risk to resident health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Among its many dominant scores, this nursing home was given first-rate long-term care score. In fact, we awarded it a score of A- in that area. For prospective patients seeking a permanent residence as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care is a very important category. After considering the quantity of nursing care, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 74.38271 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we like to see, at least this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This nursing home also received an impressive short-term care score. Indeed, we awarded it an above average score of B+ in this area. Our short-term care ratings are probably more important for individuals requiring rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation generally mandates additional highly-skilled nursing services. This means not only nursing, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. Unfortunately, we weren't able to find information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. Lastly, we assessed the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.7 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

The next area we rated is nursing. In that area, we gave this facility an acceptable grade of B-. This actually ended up being this nursing home's worst area. Our nursing grade is based on a variety of data points. The most heavily weighted one is the quantity of hours nurses spend with patients. This place provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is a low total compared to most nursing homes. Lastly, despite not having the highest total nursing hours, this nursing home performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is typically a reliable indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place.
