Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In addition to being a quality nursing home overall, this facility really excelled in our short-term care rating, where it earned an impressive grade of A. Short-term care ratings are based in part on the nursing home's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This includes a wide range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final metric we looked at in this area is the number of residents who were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that 5.6 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

Among this facility's other strengths is its elite nursing grade. We awarded them one of our better scores in that area, with a grade of A-. Our nursing score consists of a handful of subcategories, however, the paramount consideration is the number of nurse hours per patient per week. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections

Grade: B

Furthermore, this facility also earned impressive government inspections in recent years. We gave them one of our higher scores in that area, with a grade of B. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining our inspection scores. One of those factors is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some end up being quite minor. While this nursing home had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' scale. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

The next category we scored was long-term care. This nursing home was awarded an impressive long-term care grade this year, with a C. Although this is not as good as several of its other grades, this is nevertheless a decent rating in that category. In calculating our long-term care grades, we look at the nursing home's personal care services. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. We were optimistic to discover that this nursing home vaccinated 94.67456 percent of its residents against pneumonia. This nursing home also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
