Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to receiving an elite overall score, this nursing home also received an A+ inspection rating. This grade is based on the facility's recent inspection reports. An A+ in this category is one of the best complements we can pay to a nursing home. Inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this facility had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G through L. This tells you that the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

This nursing home also was awarded an A+ long-term care grade, rendering it one of the few nursing homes to receive multiple A+ category grades. Facilities that excel in this category typically are well-staffed and offer extensive hands on care to residents. Once we looked at the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 97.512436 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Vaccines are vital to keeping residents healthy. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

This nursing home also received an A+ nursing grade, making it one of the few nursing homes to receive multiple A+ category grades. Nursing ratings are primarily tied to a facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality measures and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility Ohio in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as by having a system of moving residents at least once a day.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

In the final category, this facility also received an A+ for its short-term care score, finishing off an amazing profile of A+'s in all four categories. Our short-term care ratings are crucial for residents seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually utilizes more skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing means a broad range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last measure we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients that were able to return home from the facility. We found that 6.5 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
