Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this nursing home received an A+ in the area of long-term care. Facilities that excel in long-term care typically provide residents with closer supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. On top of considering the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 97.89474 percent of its residents, which is much higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

The next category we looked at was inspections, where this facility also received an A+ grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this critical category. Inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. We weren't able to locate deficiency counts for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for its nursing grade. Our nursing grade includes quite a few components, however, the paramount consideration is the quantity of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home provides 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

In our final area, this facility also was given a very strong short-term care grade, with an A-. This topped off a very favorable profile. Short-term care grades are based in part on a nursing home's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This includes a wide range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final statistic we looked at in this category is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return home. We discovered that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.
