Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this facility also received an excellent short-term care score, with a grade of A. Our short-term care grades are meaningful for individuals requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically mandates more skilled nursing. This means a broad range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final metric we considered in this area is the number of residents who eventually returned home from the facility. We found that 6.4 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A

Adding to this facility's impressive resume, we awarded this facility an A for our inspections rating. Our inspection grades are tied to items found on the a nursing home's recent government inspections. Nursing homes that excel in this area have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Unfortunately, we were not able to locate information about this nursing home's deficiencies. Without having access to all of the deficiency data for this facility, it was a challenge to really assess it in this category.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

Another one of this facility's impressive category grades came in the area of nursing care. We awarded them one of our better scores in that area, with a grade of B+. Our nursing rating weighs many factors, however, the primary one is the level of nurse hours spent with patients. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The final category we looked at is long-term care, in which this facility received a grade of B-. This actually turned out to be this facility's least impressive category. This is still not a bad grade. In a long-term care environment, the nursing home's primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. Once we assessed the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination record. We were optimistic to discover that this nursing home vaccinated 99.25926 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Finally, this facility was also able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
