Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining our inspection grades. One critical factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some of these end up being quite minor. This place was hit with 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that CMS did not consider any of the deficiencies to create an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

Another reason we assessed this nursing home so highly is that it received an A+ long-term care grade. This is flat out as strong as it gets in this area. Facilities that receive this kind of grade in this category tend to provide consistent 24/7 care to make sure patients are well cared for. Once we assessed the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 98.86363 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Vaccines are critical to keeping residents healthy. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

Among its many impressive grades, this facility received an excellent nursing grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A in that category. We weighed the licensure of nurses working for the facility, in addition to the number of hours those nurses worked with patients, in computing our grade in this category. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In the last area, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for its short-term care rating. This wrapped up a very impressive report card. In calculating our short-term care scores, we assess a facility's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other licensed professionals. This score is considered to be a fair assessment of the facility's rehabilitation services. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the number of residents that were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 5.6 percent of this facility's patients returned home.
