Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this nursing home has received near flawless inspections in recent years. We gave them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. Perhaps the most important factor we consider in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher grades in this category typically dodged the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that we have information on deficiency's for this nursing home. We wish we had more data for this facility. Without having all of the deficiency data, it was a challenge to fully evaluate the place in the area of inspections.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

This facility also was strong in the category of short-term care, where we awarded it a score of A. Only a select group of facilities received a better grade in this area. In calculating our short-term care scores, we analyze the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. Our objective is to formulate a scale for sizing up the rehabilitation services of various nursing homes. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final datapoint we looked at in this category is the number of residents who returned home from the nursing home. We found that 5.7 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

Adding to its strong resume, this facility also received an excellent nursing score, with a grade of A. Nursing scores are mostly tied to a facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can generally be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

Switching gears to the fourth category, this facility also performed admirably in the long-term care category. We gave it a B+ in that category. This rounded out a first-rate report card. Nursing homes that excel in long-term care tend to be well-staffed and offer extensive hands on care to residents. On top of assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 97.72727 percent of its patients. Vaccines are vital to keeping patients out of the hospital. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
