Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

To go along with its relatively modest overall grade, we gave this nursing home an A- for its inspection grade. This grade is far better than the facility's overall rating. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing our inspection grades. One critical factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some can be quite minor. This particular nursing home received 7 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a good inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

The second highest grade we gave this nursing home in any area came in the category of nursing, where we gave it a grade of B-. Our nursing grade assesses the facility's level of nurse staffing. We factor in both the levels of licensure of the nurses as well as the amount of time spent with residents. This nursing home provides only 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This is a somewhat uninspiring figure which is well below the national average. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place actually fared better in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. It performed well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

This facility was awarded its next best category grade in the area of short-term care. We awarded this nursing home a grade of B- in this area, which is a decent score. Our short-term care scores are likely more critical for patients requiring rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation generally mandates higher levels of highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing means not just nursing, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. It does not look like this nursing home provided data regarding its registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. Lastly, we assessed the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most facilities, closer to half of their residents are able to return home so this figure is below average.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

The next category we assessed was long-term care. We awarded it a C in that area. This is not a bad grade in this area. With our long-term care category, we assess the amount of care provided by a facility, along with some quality measures. In addition to looking at the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 100 percent of its patients, which is better than most nursing homes. This place keeps its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
