Facility Inspections

Grade: A

One of the reasons this place is a strong facility is that it earned a very impressive inspection grade. In fact, inspections turned out to be its best category grade. In that category, we gave this facility an A. Our inspection scores account for several factors found on a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we consider is the number and severity of deficiencies. Places with better grades in this category typically have very few severe deficiencies. While this nursing home had a few minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G through L. This tells you CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. We should point out that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in this industry.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

One of the other reasons we rated this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing grade. In fact, nursing turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. The nursing rating is based on several factors, most of which are based on nursing hours. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Moving on our third category, this facility received a favorable short-term care score. In that area, we gave this facility a grade of A-. In our short-term care rating, we seek to forge a valuable gauge for rehabilitation services. In this process, we look at a nursing home's scope of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the number of residents that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: D

Moving on to our last category, we awarded this facility a grade of D in the area of long-term care. This is the nursing home's worst category grade. Nevertheless, we wouldn't dwell on a single bad category. For patients seeking a permanent residence as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care grades are an important measure. In addition to considering the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 94.50549 percent of its residents. Surprisingly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than most nursing homes. Sadly, a few of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.
