Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

One of the reasons this place is a strong nursing home is that it earned a very impressive inspection score. Inspections is its best category grade. In this category, we gave this facility an A-. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating our inspection grades. One critical factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies end up being relatively minor. While this facility had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G through L. This tells you CMS did not deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in the industry.

Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

Turning to an additional strength for this nursing home, we gave them one of our higher grades in our short-term care category as well, with a grade of B. In the category of short-term care, we attempt to qualify indicators of a facility's rehabilitation. We analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. However, according to the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last statistic we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents who ultimately were able to return home from the facility. We found that 4.9 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

Our final area is long-term care, where we gave this facility a B- in that category. In crafting these long-term care ratings, we assess the nursing home's personal care services. After we finished assessing the volume of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. We were optimistic to find that this facility vaccinates 99.002495 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Finally, this facility was also able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.04 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
