Nurse Quality

Grade: A

In addition to being a quality nursing home overall, this facility really excelled in the area of nursing, where it received an A. Nursing scores are mostly associated with the facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In addition, this facility also was awarded favorable long-term care grades in our assessment. Indeed, we gave it one of our higher grades in that area, with a score of B+. Long-term care scores of this caliber generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. After we finished assessing the quantity of nursing care, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This nursing home vaccinated 99.53703 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia can be a life threatening illness for nursing home patients so we prefer when a facility does not leave this to chance. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

Moving on to another of this nursing home's strengths, it also received a very impressive inspection score. In fact, inspections turned out to be one of its best category grades. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of B+. Inspection grades account for several factors included in a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we look at is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher grades in this category usually have very few severe deficiencies. This facility was assessed 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered severe. This indicates that the inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies an immediate threat to patient health or safety. We should note that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in the industry.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The final area we looked at is short-term care, in which this nursing home was given a B. This nursing home didn't end up having any weak grades. Our short-term care scores are presumably most critical for patients requiring rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation typically utilizes more highly-skilled nursing services. This means not merely nursing services, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 4.4 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
