Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

One of the many reasons this turned out to be a quality nursing home is that it received an A+ inspection grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this critical category. These inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This facility was hit with 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered severe. This tells you that the government inspectors didn't deem any of these deficiencies an imminent risk to resident safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

Adding to its strong resume, this facility also received an excellent nursing score, with a grade of A. Our nursing rating is largely associated with the nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

Compounding its strong profile, this nursing home also received an excellent long-term care grade, with a grade of A. In a long-term care environment, the facility's primary goal is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate patients. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 93.333336 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which happens to be a bit less than we anticipated but still a reasonably acceptable percentage. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The last category we looked at was short-term care. We awarded this nursing home one of our higher grades in this area, with a B. While this was not on par with several of this facility's other scores, it is nevertheless a perfectly acceptable score. In the area of short-term care, we seek to qualify measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. We analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, such as the ones performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last statistic we assessed in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the facility and return home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
