Nurse Quality

Grade: A

In addition to performing well in its overall grade, this nursing home received an excellent nursing score. We gave it a grade of A in that category. Nursing grades are tied to nurse staffing levels. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

In addition, this nursing home also earned a nearly flawless government inspection report. As a result, it earned one of our best grades in that area with an A-. Perhaps the most important factor we look at in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with better scores in this category typically avoided the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. Fortunately, although this place had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies aren't the end of the world.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This facility was given a favorable long-term care grade as well. We awarded it one of our higher grades in that category with a score of B+. Nursing homes that receive this kind of grade in long-term care tend to provide consistent around the clock care to make sure residents are well cared for. After we finished looking at the amount of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination record. This facility vaccinated 86.55462 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The next category we rated is this nursing home's poorest area. Nevertheless, even its lowest point would actually be a highlight for most facilities. We gave it an above average grade of B for our short-term care category. Short-term care grades are commonly used to grade a nursing home's rehabilitation services. To offer highly scored rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must have better levels of highly skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other highly skilled individuals. We were not able to find registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. Finally, we assessed the percentage of patients who eventually returned home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.
