Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to being a great facility overall, it also received A+ health inspections recently. Its inspections were nearly flawless. These inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Unfortunately, it does not appear that we have deficiency data for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

In addition, this facility was given dominant marks in the area of long-term care. For this reason, it was given one of our best grades in that area with a grade of A+. Facilities that do well in long-term care tend to be well-staffed and provide extensive hands on care to residents. One of the criteria we considered on top of nursing hours is vaccines. This nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccination to 98.101265 percent of its residents. Vaccination is a reliable method to avoid negative health outcomes for the aged 65 and up population. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

This nursing home also performed well in the area of short-term care, where we awarded it a score of A-. Only a select group of nursing homes fared better in this category. Our short-term care scores are presumably more critical for those in need of a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally utilizes additional highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes not merely nursing services, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last datapoint we assessed in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

In the last category we analyzed, this nursing home was awarded a very favorable grade of A- in our nursing category. With this score, the nursing home finished off a straight A profile. The nursing grade consists of several subcategories, but the most important one is the level of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some quality-based measures in this category. This nursing home fared well in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at. For example, in terms of the percentage of its residents suffering from pressure ulcers, this facility performed better than the national average. This is generally an indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Pressure ulcers can often be avoided with better nursing care.
